Search Taylor County Jail Records

Taylor County inmate records are searched through the county jail roster for people in local custody and through state or federal locators after transfer. A Taylor County jail roster search can show current inmates, recent arrests, bond status, charges, and the court tied to a charge entry. The roster is the first place to look up Taylor County inmates, but phone confirmation, in-person contact, public-records requests, GDC, BOP, ICE, and VINELink all matter when a name is missing or custody has changed.

Taylor County Jail Roster

The official Taylor County inmate records search begins at the public roster linked from the Taylor County Sheriff's Office page. The roster is hosted through Synergistic Software at interopweb.com and was free with no login, subscription, or CAPTCHA observed during research. At inspection, the Current Inmates tab showed "Page 1 of 4 (36 items)," which was a live roster snapshot rather than an official monthly population report.

The roster covers the local jail population, not every person with a Taylor County connection. Use it for new arrests, pretrial detainees, county-sentenced inmates, and people still held at Taylor County Jail. Use the Georgia Department of Corrections locator for people serving state prison sentences, the BOP locator for sentenced federal inmates, and ICE's locator for immigration detention. Call the jail at 478-862-5444 when a recent arrest does not appear or the roster seems stale.

Use Taylor County Inmate Records

The roster opens with current entries visible. That design helps when the user does not know the exact spelling of a name. It also means a blank search can be useful, since the filter is labeled optional. The 24-hour arrests tab is better for a very recent arrest, and the arrest-date tab helps when a family member or court notice gives a date but not an exact roster spelling.

The 24-hour arrests tab screenshot in the manifest shows the roster's recent-arrest view, separate from the main current-inmate list.

The tab gives a practical fallback when the person was just arrested and a full-name search is not enough.

  1. Open the Taylor County roster from the sheriff page or direct portal.
  2. Choose Current Inmates, 24 Hours Arrests, or Inmates by Arrest Date based on what is known.
  3. Enter first name, last name, or both. Leave the boxes blank to browse the current list.
  4. Use page numbers or the Next control if the result set has several pages.
  5. Read the card entry and the charge grid, including warrant number, statute, bond, and court fields.
  6. Call 478-862-5444 if the result conflicts with court information or a bond payment question.

Taylor County Roster Fields

Taylor County's roster search is narrow. It does not provide an advanced form for booking number, date of birth, race, agency, charge, warrant number, bond amount, or release status. The public filter is name-based, and the tabs provide the main way to change the search scope.

Taylor County Inmate Entry

Each inspected Taylor County inmate record displayed as a card-style entry with a nested charge table. It did not require opening a separate detail page. The visible entry included identity and custody fields, then charge rows below. The roster's public address field was redacted, and inspected image cells showed a placeholder rather than an actual booking photo.

Taylor County Charge Details

The charge grid is one of the most useful parts of the Taylor County jail record. It can show a warrant or case-style number, a Georgia statute, a plain charge description, and the listed court. One inspected sample included a statute entry for methamphetamine possession and a court field of MAGISTRATE COURT. Another line under the same sample listed bond revocation language. A different inspected entry had a description reading "OWE RPD $3427.00," which should be verified with the court before drawing legal conclusions.

Jail charges are booking entries. They are not the final court docket. A charge can be amended, reduced, dismissed, or later filed in Superior Court by accusation or indictment. For the court path after booking, the Taylor County Court System page, the clerk search, Georgia Courts e-access, and the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit District Attorney are the next sources. The Taylor County court records after jail arrest page gives that court-specific path.

Note: Use the roster's warrant number, statute, arrest date, and court field when calling the clerk or Magistrate Court.

Taylor County Jail Contact

Taylor County Jail is the only adult detention facility confirmed in the county by official sources. The sheriff page lists the sheriff's office at 5 N Ivy Street in Butler, and the GDC location page lists Taylor County Jail at 5 North Ivy Street with the same jail phone. The county site separates emergency, dispatch, and jail lines, which matters for routing.

Taylor County Booking Process

Taylor County does not publish a detailed booking manual online. The safe local path is based on the roster, court pages, and Georgia procedure: arrest by Taylor County SO, Butler PD, Reynolds PD, or another agency; transport or delivery to the jail; intake record creation; charge and warrant review; bond or first appearance; then release, continued detention, or transfer.

The roster confirms that Taylor County entries can include arrest date and agency, days in jail, total bond, status, physical descriptors, and charges. Georgia first-appearance timing under O.C.G.A. 17-4-26 generally uses 48 hours for warrantless arrests or 72 hours for arrests with a warrant unless bond is made in the meantime. That is state procedure. Taylor County does not publish a local first-appearance calendar on the jail page.

First appearance
The first court appearance after arrest, often tied to bond, probable cause, and initial charge review.
Bond revocation
A prior bond has been revoked, which can block release even when a new charge has a bond figure.
Detainer
A hold or notice from another agency, including immigration or another jurisdiction.

Taylor County Bond Records

The roster's Total Bond field can show a number or a status. DENIED and NOT SET were observed in inspected records. A numeric total does not prove the person can be released by paying that amount, because other holds, revocations, warrants, or court conditions may apply. Taylor County does not publish bond payment methods, a public bond schedule, accepted payment types, or after-hours bond posting rules online.

For bond questions, call the jail at 478-862-5444 and ask for the total amount required for release today, any holds that prevent release, and accepted payment forms. Magistrate Court is listed by Taylor County at 478-862-3357 and may grant bail in cases where bail is not reserved to another court. Superior Court and felony case questions route through the clerk at 478-862-5594.

Bond TermPractical Meaning
DENIEDRelease on bond may not be allowed for that charge or hold.
NOT SETBond may not have been set or entered publicly yet.
Numeric totalPossible total bond, but jail and court must confirm current release conditions.
Bond revocationAn earlier bond may have been revoked, often requiring court action.

Taylor County Jail Visitation

Taylor County does not publish an official jail visitation schedule, video-visit vendor, mail rule sheet, commissary vendor, deposit link, phone provider, tablet provider, attorney-visit procedure, or visitor dress code in the reviewed official sources. The sheriff page and GDC location page provide the jail phone but not the operational rule set.

This absence should be treated as a real Taylor County finding. Do not rely on unofficial jail directories for current visit times or vendors. Call 478-862-5444 before traveling, mailing items, sending money, or scheduling a professional visit. If the person has moved to GDC, Taylor County jail rules no longer apply.

Taylor County Search Fallbacks

If a Taylor County inmate record does not appear, the reason may be simple: the person was released, transferred, booked under a different spelling, held elsewhere, or not yet entered into the roster. Local police pages do not publish separate city jail rosters. Butler PD and Reynolds PD arrests should be checked through the Taylor roster when the person is held at the county jail.

For state custody, use Georgia Find an Offender. For federal sentenced custody, use BOP Inmate Locator. For immigration detention, use ICE Online Detainee Locator System. For victim or release notifications, use Georgia VINELink as a supplement where Taylor County coverage is available. No official Taylor County sheriff or police mobile app with inmate lookup was found.

Note: BOP does not usually help with federal pretrial custody before sentencing; counsel, federal court, or USMS may be needed.

Taylor County Records Requests

When the roster is not enough, request records from the office that created or keeps them. Jail booking sheets, jail logs, incident reports, and booking-photo requests route to the sheriff or jail records custodian under the Georgia Open Records Act. Court filings route to the Taylor County Clerk of Court, Georgia Courts e-access, PeachCourt where available, Magistrate Court, or the relevant court office.

A good request is specific. Include the person's full name, arrest date, arresting agency, known warrant or case number, record type, date range, preferred format, and contact information for cost estimates. Georgia law allows redaction of exempt information, and the public roster already shows address redaction. For booking photos, Georgia law adds restrictions that are covered more fully on the Taylor County jail mugshots page.
